Department History Overview:
Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

Training Institute Coordinator Overview:
Under the supervision of the Training Manager, this position provides complex clerical and technical support duties for the Region 6 Training Institute (TI) of Harris County Resources for Children and Adults (HCRCA).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains a budget monitoring system to tracks, monitor and fiscal management resources, costs and other activities, including budget data and departmental expenditures.
Prepares/processes vendor contracts, invoices, requisitions, purchase orders and other documents.
Teaches and/or assists with Continue Education Unit (CEU) classes, (e.g.) CPR, First Aid/Defensive Driving.
Assists with documentation review and support of CEU protocols and COA standards.
Performs a variety of functions using an online registration and tracking software as they relate to workshop set-up, monitoring of attendance and assisting faculty and staff with enrollment, user issues and post workshop logistics.
Maintains and schedules equipment and technology upgrades.
Sets-up/breaks-down sponsored workshops and meetings.
Performs complex file management. Manages incoming paperwork, filing, copying, and storage.
Responds to inquiries regarding office policies and procedures and assists the public and staff in filling out forms including vouchers, journals, ledgers, and requisitions.
Performs advanced editing tasks such as: checking documents (including curricula) for accuracy, format, and visual appeal; and researching, designing, or editing brochures, forms, manuals; or fliers.
Maintains training records for all HCRCA staff and departmental records for time/leave and travel.
Prepares court letters and memos for Commissioner’s court.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Communication, Education, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years full-time paid experience in coordination/administration or office management.
Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
Licensure:
Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license (Texas) and auto liability insurance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills and detail oriented.
Excellent post-formal and critical thinking skills
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, exercises flexibility, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with managers, staff, and contractors.
Strong work ethic and personal motivation, high professional standards, and demonstrated initiative and resilience.
Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

$40,830.40---$51,521.60 (Annually)
