We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and performing various accounting and financial tasks.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Posting weekly and monthly journal entries and assisting with month-end close and financial reporting.
2. Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
3. Preparing and distributing weekly management reports to provide insights into business performance.
4. Reconciling financial discrepancies to ensure all transactions are accounted for and properly documented.
5. Conducting ad hoc financial analysis to support decision making and strategy development.
6. Preparing and posting job cost transfers to accurately allocate costs to appropriate projects.
7. Maintaining accrual and amortization schedules and ensuring all financial obligations are met on time.
8. Maintaining fixed assets and depreciation schedules to accurately reflect the value of company assets.
9. Supporting the team on any accounting issues and working collaboratively to develop effective solutions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant position will have:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with experience in the construction industry preferred.
3. Proven ability to post journal entries, assist with month-end close, and prepare financial reports.
4. Strong Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
5. Advanced organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
