Job Responsibilities Trident Technical College's Division of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks sociology instructors to begin in the Fall of 2024. Trident Technical College is a public, two-year, multi-campus community college with a mission to serve as a catalyst for personal, community, and economic development by empowering individuals through education and training. The Division of Humanities and Social Sciences provides the first two years of coursework for students transferring to senior institutions. The division also offers general education courses supporting the associate in applied science degree in various disciplines.
Under the department head's supervision, the faculty member's primary responsibilities are to teach classes and participate in student development, academic advising, and student recruitment. Support the College by working on committees and/or performing public service for the College, reviewing and updating courses, designing new courses as needed, preparing syllabi, participating in the development/revision of instructional materials, maintaining office hours, and meeting reporting deadlines. These positions will teach five (5) courses per semester in a traditional face-to-face classroom, online, and virtual format at various locations, including high schools.
Minimum and Additional Requirements This position requires a master's degree in sociology or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in sociology.

s will have previous teaching experience in a variety of formats including face-to-face classes Successful candidates will have previous experience teaching high school students enrolled in the Dual Credit Program. The ability to work effectively in a diverse community is essential. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
