We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Vero Beach, Florida. In this role, you will be involved in various aspects of financial and cost accounting, utilizing your strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. You will be working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in documenting processes and formulating internal controls within the financial system.

• Conduct monthly reviews of General Ledger accounts and suggest adjustments when needed.

• Prepare draft financial statements for review and assist with coordinating year-end audits.

• Review journal entries prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback.

• Handle the preparation of Sales and Use tax filings for multiple entities across various states.

• Ensure compliance with state tax laws including nexus rules and business registration requirements.

• Prepare monthly reporting for government contracts.

• Assist with year-end inventory and other assigned projects.

This role requires extensive knowledge of accounting software, with particular proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products. A strong proficiency in MS Dynamix experience is also a plus. The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least Three years of related accounting experience.

• Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in a staff accounting role or similar position
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required
• A solid understanding and experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is necessary
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must-have for this role
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required
• Experience with Annual Inventory management is necessary
• Knowledge and experience with Tax - Sales & Use is a significant advantage
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
• Proven track record of working with a team and meeting deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
