The Senior Software Development Engineer will focus on development, operations, and enhancements for Deltas cloud journey. As part of the Crew IT Team, you'll engage in engineering, support, and leadership related to the platform, automation, and related activities, working closely with internal teams, Product Owners, and other IT groups.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Implement automated, containerized cloud application solutions, focusing on distributed architectures, workload migration, containerized workflows, and CI/CD integration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the OpenShift platform and its components, explaining and translating technical details to less familiar team members.
  • Design and develop cloud applications with clean, efficient, supportable, and well-documented code across the full tech stack.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure developed code aligns with their vision.
  • Provide solutions to shorten project cycles and ensure quality through testing and support activities.
  • Create visual models such as flowcharts, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
  • Address issues from development through production, including on-call support.
  • Support operational environments using monitoring tools, scripts, and data feeds to analyze and resolve production issues.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers as needed.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills and team collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Software Development experience
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (preferably AWS) and application migration
  • Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and build tools (GIT, Maven, Gradle)
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, design patterns, relational DBs (Oracle)
  • Knowledge of Web frameworks and APIs like JQuery, AngularJS, Swagger, Spring Boot
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
  • Experience with containers and orchestrators (Kubernetes/OpenShift) in cloud environments
  • Unix shell scripting skills
  • Strong communication and team skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of application security and 12-factor principles
  • High school diploma or equivalent; authorized to work in the US; at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Developer Associate
  • Experience with messaging solutions like ActiveMQ or Kafka
