Senior Project Manager

About OBMI

OBMI are architects of storied places around the globe. Our specialty is excellence in design and planning that drives a constant reinvention of luxury in hospitality and ultra-high-end residences. We’re an internationally diverse team of imagineers who all believe that every place has a unique story to tell. As passionate storytellers we immerse ourselves in culture, history and geographical context to craft unforgettable moments in architecture that support the symbiotic relationship between individuals, communities, and the natural environment.

Our resilience, agility and strategic business approach to collaborative client relationships, combined with a working environment that nurtures and encourages innovative thinking and creativity, is why we have thrived for more than eight decades. Our design philosophy seeks to discover the innate poetry of a destination and transform it into experiences that celebrate the specific sense of place. The transformative work we do ignites the spirit for our people and those who experience what we create.

What is important to us:

You combine a passion for design with superb management and presentation skills. You have strong people skills, are a natural networker, and in a perfect world will bring a book of business. A great strategic planner, you derive deep satisfaction from seeing a project through from proposal to creative concept to completion. You see it as a point of pride to deliver under budget, on schedule, and to the delight of clients. We want to know how you think and apply critical, conceptual, creative, and logistical thinking to your work. People say you are innately curious, powerfully observant, and detail-oriented to the extreme. Highly organized, you are able to keep numerous balls in the air at once, while never dropping a thing. A careful listener who is quick on your feet, you are an inspiration to co-workers.

Where do you fit into our story?

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role for one of the world’s most exciting architectural practices. You’ll lead the management of all phases of the design process. You will interface with clients to define project requirements and establish work plans and deadlines. You will collaborate with others on proposal preparation and prepare strategic plans that ensure projects are executed effectively—on time, within the budget, and surpassing the client’s expectations. You’ll be responsible for managing the entire project setup, including work plan, schedule, fees, billing, and collections, and you will track and manage the financial performance of projects. If you’ve ever wanted to create and evolve the globe’s most storied destinations, we invite you to bring us your absolute best. Enter a way of working that will transform your life and create experiences that enhance the lives of others around the world.

Required qualifications for this role in our story:

  • Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited university (Master’s degree and licensure preferred but not required)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience with strong conceptual design skills in hospitality and resort design
  • Extensive expertise in business development and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously, from design through construction documentation
  • Experience coordinating international consultants and junior staff
  • Experience in contract administration
  • Ability to manage projects, individuals, and teams
  • Eagerness to learn from mentors and inspire junior team members
  • Ability to communicate clearly with consultants, contractors, and teams
  • Ability to work on proposals and negotiate contracts and fees
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, tasks, priorities, and deadlines
  • Interested in achieving solutions for environmental sustainability and ideally have knowledge of LEED accreditation process
