Job Description

About the Role:

As a Recreational Therapist - CTRS at our Behavioral Hospital in Bunkie. you will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for our patients. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs and develop treatment plans that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. Your role will be critical in helping our patients achieve their treatment goals and improve their quality of life. We are seeking PRN team memebers who are looking for additional hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting
Experience with group therapy and/or psychoeducation

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs for patients
Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
Maintain accurate and timely patient records
Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in recreational therapy

Skills:

As a Recreational Therapist - CTRS, you will utilize your skills in therapeutic recreation, assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams on a daily basis. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your skills in group therapy and psychoeducation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role, as you will be working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care.
