Employment Consultants assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, across a variety of industries from food service and retail to tech and pharmaceutical.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing direct services to students with disabilities ages 14-22 enrolled in the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program. Career coach meets with students individually or in groups, providing services in the 5 areas outlined by WIOA regulations:

  • Job exploration and counseling
  • Work-based learning
  • Workplace readiness
  • Instruction in self-advocacy
  • Post-secondary education counseling

Requirements:

To be successful, you must:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Extensive experience in the field may substitute for degree
  • WIOA regulations for Pre-ETS, transition planning
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, at times outside of a typical work week
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Time management and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screen
