Salary : $47,857.47 - $61,079.82 Annually Location : Grants Pass, OR Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 24-41 Department: Police Opening Date: 06/20/2024 Closing Date: 7/10/2024 5:00 PM Pacific About the Position Our is seeking a dynamic customer service individual to join the records division! This position provides administrative/clerical support to our Police Department and non-emergency call taking for our citizens. This position is responsible for non-emergency police support services including administration of records and customer service. Duties include public counter and telephone customer service, data entry, review and maintenance of records, electronically routing and filing records and reports, records checks, processing warrants and sealed records, and other general office support activities. Key qualifications: Strong multi-tasking abilities with exceptional organization skills Excellent customer service skills Commitment to maintain confidentiality Ability to adapt to changing laws and regulations Proficient in data entry and basic computer skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly The position works varied shifts when the Records Division is open during these hours: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m. Upon successful completion of application review, the next steps are: Written testing (approximately 2 hours) scheduled for July 15, 2024 Observation of the position in our Records Division (2 hour minimum) of the position: Scheduled individually after written test and before interview: July 16, 17, and 18, 2024 Interview: Tentatively scheduled for July 23, 2024 Salary incentives for this position include: Associate Degree 2.5% Bachelor Degree 5.0% Note: Degree incentives are not cumulative and are subject to verification. INSURANCE

Health Insurance The City provides a full family medical package that includes the following: medical, prescription, and vision insurance. Full family coverage includes spouse or same sex domestic partner and children up to age 26. Most employees are currently provided two options for health insurance and may elect to have their portion of the health insurance premium taken out of their paycheck on a pre-tax basis. Rates for 2023, for health and dental coverage range from $207 to $221 per month depending on the coverage selected. Dental Insurance The City provides two carriers for dental coverage, PacificSource and Willamette Dental Group. PacificSource Dental allows employees to select any dentist covered by PacificSource. Willamette Dental Group is a dental service provider, and employees selecting this option must go to a Willamette Dental Center for services. Flexible Spending/125 Program Employees may elect to set aside monies pre-tax for out of pocket medical (maximum deferral $3,050) and/or dependent care (maximum deferral $5,000) expenses.

HRA/VEBA

Employees selecting the higher deductible/out-of-pocket health insurance plan, the City contributes $234 per month to a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA/VEBA). For Teamster covered employees the City contributes $140 per month to a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA/VEBA). Life Insurance The City provides life insurance to all full-time employees at one time their annual salary. An employee can voluntarily choose to purchase additional life insurance, spousal life and/or dependent life. Accidental Death and Dismemberment The City provides accidental death and dismemberment insurance to all full-time employees at one time their annual salary. Long Term Disability The City provides long term disability benefits at the rate of 60% of salary with a maximum covered salary of $15,000 per month. This benefit has a 90-day elimination period.

RETIREMENT

The City participates in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The employee's contribution of 6% is paid by the City under each collective bargaining agreement and the personnel rules at this time. Employees who are already members of PERS at the time of hire are effective immediately. Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) An employee who is new to Oregon public service and was hired on or after August 29, 2003, becomes an OPSRP Pension Program member if the employee works six full calendar months in a qualifying position for an OPSRP-Participating employer. The six-month waiting period cannot be interrupted by more than 30 consecutive working days and must be served with the same employer.

VOLUNTARY ELECTIONS

Deferred Compensation Program Deferred compensation is a voluntary program which allows employees to designate a dollar amount or percentage of their pay for pre-tax retirement savings. These funds are deducted from an employee's check after FICA taxes, but before state and federal taxes, are applied. These funds are held state and federal tax free until the employee begins to withdraw funds. An employee is eligible to withdraw funds upon separation of service. The City provides four different carriers from which the employee can select. Employees may defer a maximum of $22,500 (2023 limit) per year, with "catch-up" provisions that apply to pre-retirement employees.

LEAVE BENEFITS

Vacation Vacation accrual is provided to all regularly scheduled employees based upon their job classification, labor group, and scheduled workweek. Accruals are available to use upon satisfactory completion of the trial service period in most cases. Holiday/Holiday Compensation Management, supervisors, non-represented, Teamsters and Grants Pass Employee Association employees receive 10 paid holidays per year. Police and Fire employees receive a lump sum accrual for holidays. Sick Leave Sick leave accrual is provided to all regularly scheduled employees based upon their scheduled work week and labor group. Sick leave accrual is available for use immediately. Emergency Leave Emergency leave is provided to employees to attend the funeral of an immediate family member, or to visit an immediate family whose illness may result in death. Firefighters may take a 24-hour shift and all other employees may take up to 3 days emergency leave days per calendar year. Sick leave and/or vacation may also be utilized with approval.

OTHER BENEFITS

Employee Assistance Program The EAP provides employees and members of their households up to four confidential visits per issue per year at no cost. Visits may be for counseling, assessment or referral help in dealing with the various stresses in life. Fitness Reimbursement Policy Full-time employees are eligible for up to $40 per month towards monthly membership dues to a health/fitness facility. Reimbursement is based on attendance and requires proof of payment and is processed on a quarterly basis through payroll. Regular part-time employees are eligible for a pro-rated reimbursement. Educational Reimbursement Policy Up to fifty percent of the cost of registration and fees associated with educational courses taken at an accredited institution and related to a regular employee's job may be reimbursed upon successful (Grade C or better) completion of the class. Term maximums apply for reimbursement. Employees who have completed their trial service period are eligible for this benefit. This program is dependent on budget availability.
