Title: Legal Consultant/Legal Assistant

Location: Columbia, MD

Duration: 12-month Contract to potential perm

Manager Notes: Anybody who has previous legal experience would be a fit. Freshers with legal background will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and manage legal documents such as contracts, NDAs, and corporate filings
• Maintain and update legal databases, contract management systems, and filing systems
• Coordinate signatures, deadlines, and renewals for legal agreements
• Assist with compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting
• Serve as a liaison between the legal department and other internal teams or external counsel
• Support the legal team in corporate governance, including organizing board and shareholder meetings, drafting minutes, and maintaining statutory records
• Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information
• Monitor deadlines and legal obligations to ensure timely action

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a legal administrative or paralegal role (corporate environment preferred)
• Familiarity with legal terminology, corporate law, and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal or document management software is a plus
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
