Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
• This position is responsible for managing all organization technologies and providing technology support and training. Primary duties include: analyzing systems and processes; maintaining workstations and networks; and designing, developing and maintaining Web-based applications and maintaining compliance with all licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization and consistently adhere to all standards and guidelines.
  2. Keep your immediate supervisor informed of your activities and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  3. Administer and support Microsoft Windows applications and systems, including Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2026, Windows 10, P2, and legacy systems.
  4. Oversee the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of local area network (LAN) hardware and software.
  5. Manage network operations, including troubleshooting connectivity issues, installing and maintaining routers, managing user access and rights, resetting passwords, setting up email accounts, monitoring operational status, and performing backups and restores.
  6. Coordinate the preparation of technology and systems for new and existing staff.
  7. Ensure that all technology-related documents, such as product registrations, SSL certificates, maintenance agreements, and service contracts, are evaluated, updated, and processed in a timely manner.
  8. Supervise the implementation, administration, and maintenance of databases.
  9. Provide written technology policy guidance to managers, supervisors, staff, and consumers/participants as needed and at least annually.
  10. Continuously improve the organization's website and SharePoint pages, adding new functionality and enhancing usability to reduce the need for technical support.
  11. Provide technical supervision to staff, including updating job descriptions annually, completing evaluations, and encouraging continuous learning.
  12. Oversee routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software systems.
  13. Analyze technology needs and develop functional specifications, including conducting comparative analyses and competitive bidding when necessary.
  14. Assist staff in understanding and utilizing technology effectively.
  15. Present and implement technological solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  16. Develop and maintain technology policies, standards, procedures manuals, and related checklists.
  17. Supervise the troubleshooting of workstations, networks, software applications, phones, copiers, and other technologies.
  18. Manage the company's email/Exchange hybrid environment.
  19. Maintain and manage the company's firewall and EPS systems.
  20. Oversee technology inventory, including procurement and disposal processes.
  21. Ensure compliance with all software licensing agreements, safeguard software media and associated licenses, track software versions, and maintain a centralized software usage log.
  22. Develop annual technology goals and detailed plans for their achievement.
  23. Use the Help Desk System to identify and promptly address technology requirements.
  24. Create and maintain LAN/WAN maintenance logs.
  25. Responsible for identifying, mitigating, and documenting information technology risks and completing monthly risk management reports.
  26. Ensure the operational status of networks, workstations, operating systems, and software applications, including patching/updating hardware and software and ensuring analog and broadband circuits meet vendor specifications.
  27. Ensure the availability, continuity, and security of data and information within the organization.
  28. Prepare, maintain, and test a technology disaster recovery plan.
  29. Manage device lifecycle planning.
  30. Oversee the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.
  31. Foster excellent working relationships with other organizations, ensuring the organization is presented professionally and positively.
  32. Respect confidentiality in all matters related to staff, organization, projects, finances, and personnel.
  33. Stay current on technology trends by reading industry periodicals, evaluating new technologies, and attending trade shows, technical seminars, and training sessions.
  34. Develop and manage the technology budget, monitoring and approving related expenditures.
  35. Perform additional duties as needed or directed.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Computer Proficiency: To excel in this role, proficiency in the following software is desirable: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, and Word. Additional required technical skills and qualifications are listed under "Other Skills and Qualifications."
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond effectively to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Detail-oriented, with a professional attitude, reliability, and a proactive approach.
  • Technical Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with and experience in the following areas: LANs/WANs, Windows Server Environment, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, Internet Information Services, backup systems, network/workstation peripherals, print servers, firewalls, spam and antivirus hardware/software, Classic ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and computer hardware (e.g., replacing hard drives, installing hardware drivers).
