About the Role
The Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) at the company will be a key leader in fostering an inclusive campus environment and advancing institutional changes to support student success. The CDO will be responsible for designing, executing, and assessing diversity initiatives, serving as the Project Director for federal grants, and leading the Center for Inclusive Excellence. This role involves convening and leading a Steering Team, forming and chairing the DEIJ Council, and overseeing the administration of campus climate surveys. The CDO will also collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement robust hiring practices and professional development that promote inclusive excellence. Candidates for the CDO position should have 5-10 years of experience in higher education administration, with a Master's degree required and a Doctoral degree preferred. The ideal candidate will be an experienced diversity expert with a strong background in federal grants, grant management, and report writing. Excellent managerial, organizational, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The CDO will be expected to have strong communication skills, the ability to manage conflict, and a commitment to creating a culturally inclusive workplace and educational environment. Experience in a DEIJ Center or Office is also a necessary qualification for this role.
