Travelers Needed for Several Projects

As a Cable Technician at Talent Source, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications and data transmission systems. You will ensure that our clients' networks are functioning efficiently and reliably. Below are the key responsibilities and requirements for this position:

Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, and test coaxial cables, fiber optic cables, and Ethernet cables.
  • Mount and install equipment, such as routers, switches, and modems, according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity, signal loss, and data transmission.
  • Perform site surveys to assess the layout and requirements for cable installation.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable layouts, connection diagrams, and service reports.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards to ensure the quality and reliability of cable installations.
  • Keep up-to-date with advances in cable technology and industry best practices.
  • Provide training and support to clients and end-users on the use and maintenance of cable systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a cable technician or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and data transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in cable installation techniques, termination methods, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and NEC.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various environments.
  • Certification or training in cable installation or telecommunications preferred but not required.
